Blood Lead Screenings Available for Families

Did you know that higher blood lead levels are more prevalent among children from racial and ethnic minority groups and children from low-income households? Help inform families that Medicaid and CHIP cover blood lead screening tests for children. Get more information here to share in your community: CDC - Blood Lead Levels in Children.

Medicaid and CHIP: Enroll Year Round! Parents May Be Eligible Too!

The Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign has resources to help inform families with children and teens that enrollment in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is available year round. In addition, in many states, more parents and other adults may be eligible for Medicaid than in the past. We want families to know that children and adults who qualify for coverage through Medicaid or CHIP have not missed out on obtaining health coverage – they can enroll at any time.
