While there has been steady progress in reducing the number of uninsured Hispanic children in the United States, access to and enrollment in health coverage for Hispanic children and families continues to be disproportionately lower than other demographics. Hispanic children are one and a half times as likely to be uninsured than all other children. The Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign assembled a panel to discuss strategies to increase Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program enrollment for Hispanic children, with a special emphasis on developing messaging and activities that resonate with Hispanic families.
Blood Lead Screenings
October 24 – 30, 2021 is Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. About 3.3 million American families have children under 6 years of age at risk of exposure to lead.
